Eleanor Carbutt Counsellor

Counselling In-Person, Walk & Talk and Online

Life’s challenges can sometimes feel overwhelming, but you don’t have to navigate them alone. With warmth, empathy and understanding, I work alongside my clients to help them explore their thoughts and emotions, gain clarity, and develop the tools to create meaningful change.

Through Transactional Analysis Counselling, I support individuals in deepening their self-awareness, overcoming obstacles, and building the confidence to live life with greater ease and fulfilment.

I am committed to a neuro-affirming approach that respects and embraces neurodiversity in all its forms. I am trained to work with clients with ADHD, Autism and AuDHD.  Whether neurotypical or  neurodivergent, clients' experiences can be explored without fear of judgement or pressure to conform to societal norms.

I’m Eleanor Carbutt, a counsellor based in Colchester, offering both in-person and online support. My journey into counselling began with a lifelong curiosity about people and a deep desire to understand what shapes our thoughts, emotions and relationships. After experiencing my own life challenges, I discovered Transactional Analysis and found it so transformative that I decided to train professionally to support others in creating meaningful change in their lives.

With warmth, empathy and a down-to-earth approach, I support individuals and couples facing a range of challenges, from anxiety and low self-esteem to relationship difficulties and loss. I believe therapy should feel like a safe and supportive conversation—somewhere you can explore what’s really going on for you, free from judgment. Together, we’ll work towards greater self-awareness, confidence and positive change.

Alongside my counselling work, I have a background in TV production, hospitality and yoga teaching. These experiences have given me a broad perspective and a deep appreciation for the different paths we all take. No matter where you are in your life, I’m here to listen, support and help you move forwards.
